The short version
- We don’t use cookies, and we don’t track you across websites.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t identify individual visitors.
- If you email us, we use your email only to reply.
- We don’t sell personal data.
What we collect and why
When you visit the site
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure, working website.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are popular. It doesn’t use cookies or other storage in your browser, and it doesn’t fingerprint or identify you. It gives us totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types.
Cloudflare may process this data outside the UK. It uses recognised legal safeguards for international transfers, set out in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies
We don’t set any cookies, so we don’t show a cookie banner. The filters on our product table are saved in the page address (for example ?f=free), not in your browser.
When you email us
We use your email address and message only to reply to you. We keep them for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then for up to two years in case you contact us again.
When you follow a link to a software provider
Links to software providers take you to their websites. Some may be affiliate links, which are labelled “(affiliate link)”. These go through an address on our site (/go/…) before redirecting you, and we don’t record who clicks them.
Once you reach the provider’s site, or an affiliate network’s, their own privacy and cookie policies apply. They may use cookies to record that you came from us. See our affiliate disclosure.
Newsletter (coming soon)
Sign-up isn’t open yet. When it opens, we’ll use Kit (kit.com) to store subscribers’ email addresses and send the newsletter, and ask for your consent when you sign up. You’ll be able to unsubscribe from any email. We’ll update this notice with the full details before sign-up opens.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to move it to another service. To do so, email hello@mtdradar.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
